CoolSculpting Frequently Asked Questions

CoolSculpting in Austin is a great way to slim and sculpt without the downtime of surgery. Cryolipolysis is an FDA approved treatments for stubborn areas of fat on the body that are resistant to diet and exercise. The most common areas are the abdomen, love handles, flanks, bra fat, outer and inner thighs, and arms. This non-invasive procedure works by crystalizing the fat cells and forcing them to through natural cell death, the dead cells are then expelled from the body by your inflammatory response and lymphatic system with no down time. You can resume normal exercise immediately and results develop gradually over 2-4 months. CoolSculpting will remove about 20-25% of the fat from a treatment area at a time. Re-treatment can be done in as little as 30 days if needed.

CoolSculpting Frequently Asked Questions

How long until I see results?

Full dramatic results will be seen at 8-12 weeks, but many patients begin to see results in as little as 4 weeks.

How long does a CoolSculpting treatment take?

Each application takes approximately 35-45 minutes depending on the area being treated, we are also able to dual-sculpt meaning we can treat 2 areas at once.

What does CoolSculpting feel like?

Most patients feel a very mild cold sensation that subsides after the first 10 minutes. After each treatment the device is removed and the area is massaged to maximize the treatment result, during this 2 minute process it will feel uncomfortable but bearable, much like a deep tissue massage.

How much does CoolSculpting cost?

Depending on the location of treatment, price averages at about $800 per applicator. Come in for an expert consultation with our CoolSculpting professionals for a more accurate price estimate.

How to prepare for treatment

Over the counter medications such as aspirin, anti-inflammatories, and fish oil supplements may exacerbate bruising and should be discontinued. If you are unsure about whether your medications are blood thinners, our providers will review them with you at consultation. If bruising occurs in the treatment areas it typically resolves within a week.

What do I wear to my appointment?

Wear comfortable, loose clothing to your appointment that can be removed for pictures, measurements, and weight for comparison at your follow up. It is common for the treated area to feel bloated and to look slightly swollen for the first couple weeks. Compression such as yoga pants or Spanx may feel good to wear during this period.

What should I expect after CoolSculpting?

You may experience a temporary dulling sensation or itching/tingling that can last for 4-5 weeks. About 4-10 days post CoolSculpting you may notice more intense sensations than during the first few days. This is due to the inflammatory response your body naturally mounts to remove the dead fat cells. For most patients the systems are mild.
