What is a Four-Dimensional Facelift?

A facelift reduces the signs of aging but it does not stop aging altogether & does not improve the brows, eyelids, nose, or skin. Similar to a traditional facelift, our four-dimensional facelift is performed by Dr. Cabret under general anesthesia. Additionally, small incisions are placed at your hairline, behind your ears, and under your chin. Then, Dr. Cabret will reposition your cheek fat pads over your cheekbones. Finally, your facial expression muscles are repositioned to achieve the desired result.

Four-Dimensional Facelift Benefits

Unlike a traditional facelift, the four-dimensional facelift procedure provides the benefits of multiple procedures in one surgery. Combining the benefits of the procedure not only our staff but the patient as well. Performing a face, neck & brow lift, and laser resurfacing all at once allows Dr. Cabret to plan the procedures and optimize results. Furthermore, patients will not have to undergo multiple surgeries or experience multiple recovery periods.

Who is a Good Candidate for a 4D Facelift in Lakeway?

When patients really only need to address sagging and aging in the mid to lower face, a traditional facelift is appropriate.

For more widespread aging, however, a traditional facelift isn’t sufficient. That’s because traditional facelifts don’t improve the brows, eyelids, nose, or the skin. When a patient needs to expand rejuvenation to all of those areas, in addition to the mid and lower face and upper neck, we recommend a four-dimensional facelift.

How is a 4D Facelift Performed?

Our 4D facelifts are tailored to the individual’s needs, but they will include an endoscopic brow lift, a midface lift, a multivector face and neck lift, and laser resurfacing across the facial skin. This comprehensive procedure is really a combination of a variety of small procedures.

We perform our 4D facelifts with the patient under general anesthesia. These are usually roughly 6-hour surgeries. They will include small incisions placed around your hairline, behind your ears, and under your chin. We adjust the support muscles and reposition the fat pads that have sagged on your cheeks. Skin excision is only minimal so that we can provide the most natural-looking end results.

We seek to reposition every layer of your facial tissues, starting with the periosteum, then the SMAS muscles, and lastly the skin. For our revolutionary 4D facelifts, we consider the face as a whole, instead of dividing it into separate areas.

What is Recovery Like After a 4D Facelift?

After your 4D facelift, your face will be wrapped in a pressure dressing. This will be worn for 48 hours. When that is removed, you will wear a facial garment for one week. The goal of this compression is to help limit swelling and to help your tissues begin the process of tightening down. Because our 4D facelifts don’t involve the longer incisions and extensive tissue excision of many traditional facelifts, your recovery isn’t as lengthy. Still, you will have some pain, swelling, and bruising. This will last for a period of a couple of weeks, and swelling can return at times for months, particularly in the evening. Most patients need at least three weeks off work. It will be at least six weeks before you can perform any strenuous exercise, as you must keep blood pressure from elevating across your face.

We’ll discuss your recovery in more detail during your consultation.

Is a 4D Facelift Safe?

These are involved surgical procedures with Dr. Michelle Carbret, and they entail all the risks involved with any surgery: reaction to anesthesia, excessive bleeding, poor incision healing, development of blood clots, and the like. These are rare but possible.

Your incisions will be numb, and this can endure. After that period, they will likely begin to itch. But eventually, this should pass as the nerves become accustomed to the repositioned skin and support tissue. There is a risk of asymmetry between the sides of your face.

Does a 4D Facelift Hurt?

There will be some pain after your procedure. We prescribe pain medication that you will likely need for the first three days after your surgery. From there, most patients feel they can move to over-the-counter anti-inflammatory options. Because we try and keep your incisions as short as possible, your pain is not overly acute after the initial few days.

How Much Does it Cost?

Every 4D facelift we perform is different. That’s because every patient’s face ages differently. These are not “stock” procedures by any means, and we don’t charge a “stock” price. Once we examine your face during your consultation, we will have a much better idea of your unique needs from this procedure, and we will know what parts of the 4D facelift you need. At that point, we can give you a precise estimate of your cost.

This is the BEST place for getting all of your BEAUTIFUL needs taken care of. Reasonably affordable and lovely bedside manners from everyone. Doesn’t get any better than this!
