Eyelid lift – Blepharoplasty
A blepharoplasty, or eyelid lift, is a procedure performed by cosmetic surgeons to restore that youthful appearance around your eyes. Depending on your needs, the procedure will involve either your upper eyelids, lower eyelids, or both. Blepharoplasty is a fantastic option to address wrinkles, deep lines, bags, dark circles and puffiness.
Patients who’ve undergone an eyelift procedure are told their eyes look fuller, brighter and more expressive. Even though the procedures are performed on the eyelids and not the actual eyes, you’ll look and feel like you have brand new eyes.
Candidates For Blepharoplasty Surgery
Before having an eyelid lift procedure, it’s important to speak with one our surgeons for a thorough consultation. Dr. Michelle Cabret-Carlotti or Dr. Albert Carlotti can discuss your concerns. We’ll review your medical history and current well-being to determine if you are a good candidate for blepharoplasty. Afterward, we’ll determine a course of action according to your needs.
Why Choose A Blepharoplasty?
The blepharoplasty procedure can correct the following:
- Excess skin in the lower eyelids
- Puffy fat deposits near eyes
- Folded skin over upper eyelids
- Undereye bags
Blepharoplasty Before And After
The eyelift procedure is an outpatient procedure. You’ll be given local anesthesia, or in some cases, an IV sedation. Incisions will be made in your upper eyelid crease or lower eyelid along the lash line depending on your treatment plan. If necessary, we will remove a small amount of skin in either the upper or lower eyelids. Finally, we use fractional laser treatments to renew your skin.
After the procedure is complete, you will experience some swelling and bruising. The swelling will quickly subside in as little as two days. After the first week, bruising will begin to fade and your stitches will be removed. You’ll begin to notice the full results of the procedure within two weeks.
